When you create a Tournament Ninja account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign up through a third-party authentication provider, we receive your name and email from that provider.

1.2 Tournament Data

We collect the data you provide when creating and managing tournaments, including tournament names, formats, participant lists, match scores, standings, and related content. This data is necessary to provide the core functionality of the Service.

1.3 Payment Information

When you make payments through Tournament Ninja (such as tournament entry fees or subscriptions), your payment information is collected and processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers. We may receive limited payment details from Stripe (such as the last four digits of your card and billing address) for record-keeping purposes.

1.4 Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, browser type, device type, IP address, and referring URLs. This information helps us improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Tournament Ninja platform.
  • Manage tournament operations including bracket generation, scoring, match scheduling, and statistics tracking.
  • Process payments and manage billing.
  • Send you transactional emails, such as account confirmations, match notifications, and tournament updates.
  • Send you product updates and announcements (you can opt out at any time).
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate Tournament Ninja:

  • Stripe — for payment processing. Stripe receives your payment information directly and processes it under their own privacy policy.
  • Resend — for sending transactional emails such as account verification, tournament notifications, and password resets. Resend receives your email address for delivery purposes.
  • Supabase — for data hosting, authentication, and database services. Your account and tournament data is stored on Supabase infrastructure.

3.2 Public Tournament Data

Tournament brackets, results, and standings that you make publicly accessible are viewable by anyone with the link. Participant names displayed in public brackets are visible to viewers. You control the visibility settings of your tournaments.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or safety, or investigate potential violations of our Terms of Service.

4. Cookies and Authentication

Tournament Ninja uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Authentication — We use session cookies to keep you signed in and manage your authentication state. These cookies are essential for the Service to function.
  • Preferences — We may use cookies to remember your settings and preferences.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can configure your browser to reject cookies, but doing so may prevent you from using parts of the Service that require authentication.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data and tournament data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a tournament, its data is removed from our active systems within 30 days.

When you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days after deletion. We may also retain limited information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention).

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data. You can view your account information and tournament data through the Tournament Ninja dashboard at any time.
  • Correct inaccurate personal data by updating your account settings or contacting us.
  • Delete your account and associated data by contacting us at support@tournamentninja.com.
  • Export your tournament data. Contact us to request a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Opt out of non-essential emails by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or adjusting your notification settings.

7. Children's Privacy

Tournament Ninja is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption in transit (TLS), secure authentication, and access controls.

Tournament Ninja is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
